Newly Hatched

Hello everybody. Hope you have had a good weekend with all this nice weather.

Here is the latest updated on the tadpoles. We now have a black mass of them, just below the surface. At this stage they are very embryonic. They have gills, which will disappear over the next week or so and while they have eyepits, they haven't developed their eyes yet, so are blind. They don't move very much - just waving their tails a bit, and eat the jelly from which they have recently hatched.

The rest of the day was very pleasant. I went for a ride on the bike in the morning and was too hot! Something which has not happened for a while. It was a good six miles, but I need to get my average speed up.

We had lunch at about two o' clock - out to a pub for Sunday lunch to celebrate a friend's sixtieth birthday. It was a really nice meal. We had set the rugby to record before we went, so spent all the time in the pub trying not to hear the people in the other bar cheering and groaning at various times through the afternoon. Then we got home and discovered that we'd only recorded the first six minutes of the programme as we'd had a power cut. That was a bit annoying.

Anyway, Monday again tomorrow and back into routine after being in hospital all day last Monday. I will probably be fielding insurance claim queries and I need to try and find out where the contents of the car went after the accident. Maybe not so normal after all.
