Another allotment shot - new strawberry bed

I apologise for yet another allotment shot, this is more for us than blippers out there - a record, like last year, of progress on the plot.

This in the new ground we've taken over this year. With more luck than judgement all bits of the plan for a strawberry bed came together; the strip of soil I cleared and dug was the same width as the weed supressent which was the same width as the hoops that make the protective cage. That's about a quarter of the new plot prepared.

In the background are the new sheds, one of which is ours and in the middle of the shot are the ever growing terrace of compost bins. The dry weather has given us a good couple of days on the plot which is beginning to look good although there remains much clearing to do espcecially where the potatoes are going.

We enjoyed our morning swim at The Village, it really starts the week off well. The place is usually buzzing with meetings - earnest people discussing performace or product surrounded by paper, laptops or pads and coffee cups and plates with part eaten cakes. Makes you thankful for being able to do what we do!
