Still flowing

The water line has marginally come down. It no longer flows over the road but only a few drops of rain will bring it back up again.

The path along the sides of the pool has collapsed in places so I was careful when I squeezed past the barrier and made my way to the now, theoretically, unreachable bridge. The new springs are gushing and the flow coming from them is actually more than there was a week or so ago. That explains the still abnormally high level.

I stupidly took only a 100mm lens so will creep back in a couple of days. This is the foot of the waterfall as it enters Sherbourne Pond from Silent Pool.

There have been men working on the trees around the pond. They have cut back so much it is hardly recognisable as the same place as last week. There was me thinking that they were just making a few trees safe. Of course, they had to cut everything now. You would think that at least Surrey Wildlife Trust would adhere to not doing work after the 1st March to protect the birds during nesting season.
