More forest dangers

As the badger was lying just a few meters from the driveway, I didn't want to do our morning walk by going out that way in case Luna had the idea to visit on her own later in the day. Flash didn't want to go through the forest, so did a detour to get to the fields.

However added to an uncomfortable easterly breeze the swarms of slurry tanks being driven at high speed on the roads and field tracks was a real nuisance so eventually changed route and went in to the forest for a bit of peace and quiet. Lost the sun but also the wind.

However we weren't safe and were very nearly flattened by this monster which came around a corner and totally surprised us. I only just managed to gather up Luna and luckily Flash was wise enough to get off the track.

Very unusual for them to use the forest tracks. I know of one farmer we bliped last year who has permission (and has to pay) to use it but this one I think was from a contractor and I had seen it earlier on the road.

The badger was removed in the afternoon by the highways people who also replaced the snowplough guidance post opposite our driveway which was probably broken in the badger collision. Hope this isn't a sign of expected snow as in spring these posts are normally removed. Weather is due to deteriorate at the weekend but still not as cold as normal at this time of year.
