Stonebow

Comes from the Norse, Stennibogi, which means stone arch! This stone arch is a main landmark and meeting place in Lincoln. It dates back to the late 14th/early 15th century, and was of course, built by the Romans! More details of its long and varied history can be found here. The carved figures are the Virgin Mary, and Angel Gabriel!
