Pony

Did you know that the Dutch use the word 'pony' for the hair fringe or bangs hanging over people's forehead? I guess this pony's hairdo shows why that is :-)

I went to the Haller bos (the bluebell woods near Beersel) with a friend to check if the bluebells are very early too or not. They weren't ! (to be honest I knew that they wouldn't be out yet, but had never been there before and so it was nice finding out how to get there next month when the bluebells will be out as an amazing blue carpet). There were plenty of wood anemones out already though.

After a short walk in the woods we went to the neighbouring town to find a place for coffee. This town is called Dworp (such a funny name) and has an interesting former town hall with neighbouring WWI monument and a pillory. The weather was great, so we were looking for a cafe with a terrace but Dworp didn't have any such establishments to our surprise. A. then guided me to the riding school where the family used to ride, because that was near Dworp and did have a cafe with terrace. That's where I saw this pony amongst many other ponies and horses :-)

On the way back A also showed me this cave dedicated to Mary. People come to pray to Mary when they or family members have severe problems or are ill. There were candles burning even today and the whole cave is filled with thank you signs.

On that note, thank you very much for the comments and stars on yesterday's Postie Blip :-)
