Pictorial blethers

Anticipation ...

I'm just home (11pm) from a wonderful concert in Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. The Hilliard Ensemble and Jan Garbarek (sax) performed for 80 minutes non-stop, 75 minutes of which was entirely new to me, although I'm very familiar with Officium, their first collaboration. The last 5 minutes was reserved for the encore - the 16th century Scottish Remember me, my deir, which I have sung many times. The central hall of the gallery was packed, and there were people standing in all the balcony spaces - a huge audience who erupted with a standing ovation, whistles, shouts of 'bravo' after the silence in which they had heard the music.

The picture, shot over the heads in front of us, shows the space in the minutes before the musicians appeared.

I am sure there will be a wonderful counter-tenor in Heaven ...
