Spring buds

We have most definitely come home to spring. The entire garden is in bud, and it is wonderful to see all that new growth again. I am pleased to get out of the full sun and heat from the mountain slopes. They were expecting more snow there on the weekend, which seems unbelievable after the warm weather they have had there.

After only 4 days away we have come home to hit the ground running. I was at the dog kennels at 8.30am this morning to collect Murdoch after dropping Thomas off at school, and then managed a grocery shop, some more laundry and have just finished baking a carrot cake for Luke's 18th birthday tomorrow. I now have to go watch Thomas' hockey match so hopefully will get around to all the wonderful journals I have missed over the past few days. There is nothing like no internet to make one feel cut off from the rest of the world.

Thomas came home tired as he was up at 6am every morning as their coach wanted them up and ski training as soon as the lifts opened. Four days of intensive ski training and racing was fun but exhausting. He came home to a mock English exam today (the teacher knew he had been away!), a hockey match this afternoon, his piano lesson this evening, and then tomorrow after school the school orchestra is performing at the Godalming Music Festival, so he will be pleased when the weekend rolls around and he can catch his breath again.
