Favourite day

Our second holiday excursion was to Isla Saona, a fabulous Caribbean paradise island which was, apparently, the setting for the film The Blue Lagoon and a Bounty chocolate bar ad. We loved its unspoiled tranquillity and beauty.
Isla Saona is a government protected nature reserve located off the on the south-east tip of the Dominican Republic. The island is 22 kilometers long and mostly uninhabited except for one small village called Mano Juan with a population of 300 people. It was given its name by Christopher Columbus, the first European to discover it.

This is the last backblip from our holiday. Our flight was only delayed a little and we are now back in the wilds of West Essex. Many thanks to those who looked at my holiday blips.
