The lens might look good LARGE (but I won't!)

I have a very very kind guest staying with us this week, who loaned me his new 300mm f2.8 VR lens today. The weather wasn't really up to wandering around with a few thousand pounds worth of glass, but I did try it out from the dry of the front doorstep! It focuses really fast, is mind-blowingly sharp and is way out of my price bracket!
