Living in Brabant

Mad dogs and Englishwomen

Today is national volunteers' day, and this year I decided to take part in tidying up, and making a vegetable garden in a home for people with Alzheimer's disease.

This time last year, I took part in clearing up litter from the local harbour.
It was rather demotivating to see rubbish all over the place again, just a mere few days after all our hard work. So this year it was time for a change.

It got really cold at one point, especially after we'd all got soaked in a spring shower! A lovely place, I've volunteerd to go back in the autumn and help again.

There are chickens, guinea-pigs, and these two dogs who seemed to delight in running around the garden, and into this box hedge.

The smallest one (on the left), a pug, barely reached the top of the box which seemed to frustrate the larger one even more!

Enjoy your Saturday evening, folks, I think I'll be sitting on the sofa nursing an aching back ;)
