View from Portencross

We had a lovely day out in Ayrshire yesterday, in the sun (and fresh wind). I've been meaning to visit West Kilbride for ages - it is Scotland's only craft town, there are numerous craft studios along the main Street to visit. Of course, we went on a Sunday when they were all closed! Must go back soon as I fully intend to spend a little time and money in Old Maiden Aunt's yarn studio!

Then we stopped at Portencross Castle on the coast, it was closed for winter but worth a visit later in the year, it dates from the 14th century and sits in a lovely bay with views over to the Isle of Arran. It was difficult to take a photo properly as the sun was so bright, when I looked at them on the monitor, most had squinty sea! It was lovely to wander around the shore line, I've been hankering after a visit to the sea for a while now.
We finished the day off in true traditional style - A fish tea and ice cream at Nardinis in Largs. Perfect day out :-)
Hope you all day a lovely weekend too.
p.s. no word challenge for me today, the views were too good to not blip! However, I've tagged this "happiness pics" as part of 100 happy days challenge (on various social media too)
