Mountains, Fog and a Golden Dawn

Another commuting blip today, this one from down on the main Akaroa Highway at Ataahua between Kaituna and Motukarara.

The view out to the Southern Alps was just glorious, with fog in the middle distance (out towards Lincoln, I think) giving a ghostly appearance to the rows of trees.

As I write this approaching midnight, I can see the stars are shining bright. I think I might have to pop outside and see what I can capture with the camera.
