Walk on by

This morning heard a snippet of a British newspaper review of an article by the Daily Mail of a "test" to see what happened in a busy shopping center in London, to two young children looking clearly lost. They reported over 600 walked by (avoided) the girls and only one 70 year old grandmum stopped to talk to them. One of the possible reasons suggested is, particularly by men, fear of contact & offers of help being misinterpreted.

Sad state of affairs but I had the same thoughts myself today. Went for a walk around the Bannwald in Ottobeuren and passed the Forest Kindergarten with the children playing in the forest. I have Bliped them before but with the sunshine and snow would probably have been a great Blip but I didn't want to yet again ask if I could take some photos, for exactly the same reason as probably many shoppers.

Went to Ottobeuren because I couldn't face the idea of walking over all the wet, slurry covered fields. At our level there is no little lying snow on the ground but quite some on the trees which was now melting making that route difficult.

Parked at the other end of the Bannwald near the observatory and walked around the snow covered fields and then did risk a brief walk in the forest including passing the kindergarten. In those parts where the track was covered by fir trees, got soaked. Although only about 3°C, when the sun was out it was very warm and for much of the walk felt overdressed. But on the way home in the car drove through a heavy snow flurry in the town. I guess April weather which is what it has felt like the past few weeks.
