I Was Spied Upon By A Spidey Statue

The manager of my mother's care home phoned to tell me to wait for Mother, who was being brought to Broomfield hospital in Essex by ambulance for an X-ray, in the atrium by the statues.

I was there in very good time and waited under the gaze of a pair of ten feet high, Joseph Hillier, fibreglass and silver statues. They look a bit Spiderman to me. I quite like them but they're controversial because they were costly.

I waited and waited, scanning everyone who entered the atrium. (Gosh there are a lot of seriously overweight people about.) In the end I asked at the desk. Mother had been and gone. :(
