A414 Warning Signs At Sunset

As I drove along the A414 late this afternoon between Chelmsford and Ongar I encountered a number of vehicles on the roadside and people with cameras and long lenses. I thought that they were twitchers and even considered turning around to see which bird they were photographing.

I continued and spotted a kestrel hovering over the road. I pulled into a bus stop near North Weald, coupled up my long lens and got a few mediocre shots. The sun was on the point of setting and I snapped the orb.

When I got home I had a call from my daughter. The photographers were trying to shoot the burnt-out wreckage of a Yak which had taken off from North Weald, lost control and crashed into a rape field. Two men lost their lives. :(

Quite misty this evening, I'm getting up early for an S2000 run tomorrow, imagine it will be a misty start.
