Arbroath Signal Tower

The Arbroath Signal Tower was built in 1813, it is in in a complex of buildings originally used as the shore station and family accommodation for the Bell Rock Lighthouse. The Signal Tower served the lighthouse until 1955 and is now a museum.

It has been a very overcast and rather hazy day today. Venturing slightly south of Aberdeen gave no improvement to the weather. Little activity in the port, and fewer people fishing from the harbour walls. No shortage of boats moored up in the harbour however. All waiting for the summer season to arrive to allow for some recreational sailing. The walls did at least give some shelter from the cold wind coming in off the North Sea.
