Demonstration Day at Avalon Marshes

I went to see the open day at Avalon Marshes . It's where Stan goes with Strode College on a Wednesday to work on environmental and archaeological projects. The hollowed out canoe - a replica of one found on the Neolithic Sweet Track was there as well as the tin hut used for the original excavations of Meare Lake Village. I was hoping to see some birds but they were elusive but I do like the golden reeds and had an enjoyable half hour reading whilst perched on one of the seats overlooking the water.
I pushed myself to call in at Sharpham tea garden for a cuppa before going home.
