Marjorie's ramblings

The lone tree at Buttermere

Today was a day out without JG, but we still had to produce 10 images for the evening crit.

Jane and I went to Crummock Water and on to Buttermere. Here we walked from the village to the lake and took shots from one end. This is the famous tree which used to have more branches. It still looks pretty stark against the background. I've used a long exposure here to calm the water.

The forecast was for rain by lunchtime, but it never came. We returned to Braithwaite via Honister Pass where we marvelled at the boulders - clearly thrown around by giants some millions of years ago.

Tomorrow, to the coast we think.
