Sun at last

Sunday dawned mild and dry, so we got up early and packed the tent away. As we were going orienteering at Faskally, near Dunkeld we left at 8 am. This is not a time I usually see as I go to bed too late. It was a shock to the system but we coped and the journey went well. The weather was 'soft', the West Highland euphemism for mild with drizzle and it was worse at Pitlochry. I had a good, clean run for a change and did well. On the way home it was showery all the way to near the Forth Road Bridge , when an odd thing happened and the sun came out. No big deal you might think, but we hadn't seen the sun properly for more than a week. By the time we got home it was like 'Wellington weather'. For those unfamiliar with the weather in NZ's capital, that means the air was clear and the sun shines brightly. As a result the dandelions, that are profuse at the moment, looked lovely. This is a close up of one of them.
