Flying Away!

Here we are setting off up North Road for a delicious brunch at the Boston Tea Party in Gloucester Road before Grace had to set off for a Matinee performance of 'Hair'.
For some reason Chris and I didn't manage to do this!

Grace and John are moving out of their flat in this road at the end of this month and will hopefully be in their house next time we visit Bristol.

We saw 'Hair' last night and it was amazing, not least as Grace was playing the shy and serious Cissy (definitely not type casting!) I was about 15 when 'Hair' was the sensational musical of the hippie era, a bit young to go to London to see it, so I'm very grateful to BAOS (Bristol Amateur Operatic Society) for giving me the chance. The second half was very powerful with images of the Vietnam war, a side forgotten behind the hype of the show because of it's infamous nudity. (Yes they did but not Grace). I even got to go up onto the stage at the end to sing and dance to 'Let the Sunshine in', Chris was dragged up too!

A great few days away, thanks to all for sunshine, entertainment and lovely food!

Bye North Road.
