Willow Warbler

I love this time of the year when the summer migrants are returning. I saw house martins flying round the garden yesterday and chiff chaffs have been singing for a week or two.
Today I went for a walk in the hills above Oswestry, cold and bracing for most of it until the sun came out and it was suddenly warm - especially going uphill! There were lots of birds about and I saw this lovely little willow warbler that had returned from it's winter quarters in central and southern Africa to nest here. What a miracle that these tiny birds (smaller than a sparrow) can find their way and survive such a journey.
