The Wall

I made a start on cutting back the tree which has spent the last thirty years or so, growing up through the wall between our garden and next door's. As you can see, it has made a real mess of the wall. The red lights you can see through the gap is the setting sun lighting up the branches on the other side of the wall. It's going to take a long time to take the whole thing down and it may well wreck the wall and cause a substantial part of our garden to avalanche into next door's.

The morning was also spent in the garden - the mother-in-law's garden this time. Mrs Mikey was working inside the house, hoovering and tidying, while I went round the lawn digging up dandelions. It's a task I quite enjoy on a nice day. There's something very satisfying about getting the roots out and while I know quite a lot of them will grow again, it will certainly slow down their spread.

At about half past twelve, we finished, went home and had a nice lunch in the garden. It was pleasant in the sunshing, but the wind was a bit chilly when it blew.

Hope you're all getting the nice weather and enjoying your Easter Break.
