Mine, all mine!

After the madness of yesterday the day started in a more sedate manner.
A wee cycle via the lochside to meet the ladies for breakfast, a cheeky wee bacon and fried egg roll then a cycle back to the car before work.
On the way back to the car, I stopped in at the bird hide where I totally lost track of time watching the springtime shenanigans on the water.
A male shelduck was chasing everything off of his patch, teals were brightening up the water, shovelers were having bottom flashing competitions, dabchicks were chasing each other all over the place, the coots and the moorhens were lurking alongside the reedbeds...
This heron was the star of the show!
He made a VERY ungraceful landing carrying a huge stick, proceeded to stomp about with it in his beak, tripped over it, dropped it and eventually gave up on whatever purpose he had for it and resorted to some very ungainly ballet steps...
I was almost late for work!
Sometimes just watching nature at play is what we all need - certainly more entertaining than tackling the ironing pile!
