Sgwarnog: In the Field

Beetling...

...about in Wales for the day.

The morning was off to a good start with my first Orange-tip Butterfly of the year in my Mum's garden, but it was just flying through and so didn't pause for a picture. A quick walk around the block revealed my first Holly Blue of the year and plenty of Whites and Small Tortoiseshells.

Turning to the undergrowth, tiny beetles and weevils were basking in the sun. This was the finest of the bunch.

Then we met up for a nice family lunch in St. Asaph, dropped my Mum back home in Denbigh before heading back up the A55 to spend a few days in a caravan at Frodsham.
