Life's Little Moments

Spring Azure

After a hard rain last night, I awoke to sunny skies this morning and loads of pollinators on the cherry trees. After a shower and quick cup of tea and breakfast, out I went with the macro lens. There are still hundreds of bees (I'd estimate at least 10 different species) buzzing around the trees ... as well as a few Spring Azures! These butterflies are tiny, about the size of an American dime, and VERY flitty. They also never seem to perch with wings open, so I've never had much luck getting their beautiful namesake wings. In fact, I don't have a lot of luck getting them in any position because of their flittiness.

I posted 5 other pics (bees, ants, a mystery insect and a sparrow portrait) starting HERE on Flickr

And if you want a guaranteed smile, please have a look at last year's blip - it is one of my personal favorites.

Great news from the racetrack this morning. After working on the replacement car until 10 last night, they think they've got a seat rigged up that will work for Hubs, so he will be able to race today. He sent me some pics of the wrecked car and ... yow! Gonna take more than a little Bondo to fix that baby up.

Kura and Ellen are arriving shortly, the Prosecco is chilling, and the sun is shining...

Have a happy Saturday...
