Where Has the Track Gone?

The day was dull and grey. It was raining when the dogs and I went for our walk. Due to the recent severe storms the true left bank of the Taylor River has taken a big hit in some areas. This has occurred in stretches of the bank where there are no protective plantings of willows.
At this area of the river bank shown in today’s image the storm water flows have eroded away into the land and the tracks have completely disappeared. The dogs are puzzled. The river is running some 3 metres down below the top of the river bank.
Gypsy, being very agile but at the same time slightly ditzy, made a big leap down into the water from the top of the bank.
Here Fergus is looking anxiously down at her as she attempts to jump up the three metres to the top of the bank. It is a sheer drop and it did not take too long for Gyspy to realise it was mission impossible. After all she is half Border collie and is pretty smart. So she raced off down the river, splashing and swimming until she was able to find a suitable area amongst the willows to scramble out of the water and up the bank. She then raced back to Fergus and me. I have to say I reckon she looked just a little embarrassed…..
