CCC: Snail Translucence

Clearer to see in large ("L").

I found this tiny snail whilst poking around in the garden in the rain. It was rather sweet, and I enjoyed photographing it from various angles, but focussing on its eyestalks wasn't easy...
Snails (well, land snails in Pulmonata) have two pairs of tentacles on their heads: the top pair are the ommatophores or eyestalks bearing the eyes, while the lower pair are olfactory sense organs and so bear chemoreceptors.

I put up another couple of shots of this snail:
Head in a droplet
Curving plane of focus (I focussed on its eye, and the plane of focus ran up its ommatophore and head, and then up and over the shell)
