But, then again . . . . .

Bara Jetty.

The cycle club had a car assisted run today; I don't really approve of wasting good cycling time sitting in a car travelling to pastures new, so I went out by myself; there were a few blip sites I wanted to explore, one of them being Bara Wood and its lake; I know this wood as a place to see snowdrops, it is quite spectacular in February. At this time of year there is a mass of bluebells, unfortunately, a large area is contaminated by the Spanish variety including a significant amount of hybridisation. It's a shame, as this is quite a remote area which you would expect to have avoided the invasion. The biggest disappointment was that the proprietor of the cycle friendly cafe in nearby Gifford has now decided to close on Wednesdays, not so friendly after all.

Lying next to this little jetty, upside-down and half submerged, is a fibre-glass dinghy; neither appear to have been used since I was last here three years ago.

I'm impressed to discover that the Blipfoto map search knows about Bara wood.

I’ve just posted “Southmead Hospital” from the 7th of April.
