Dancing in the Streets

The third of four back-blips following a short break in Cornwall with son Andy. The main recent for our visit was Helston Flora Day, an annual event dating back hundreds of years. There are four dances, led by the Helston Town Band, that meander through the streets and in and out of houses and shops. There's a fair, market stalls, singing in the pubs and clubs, very many beverages being consumed (the pubs open at 06:30 and don't close!!) and much merriment.

Being an ex-member I'm very lucky to be invited to play with the band for two of the dances, an amazing experience and a great privilege. What a day we had, though much of it in a bit of a blur for Andy(!).
