Mother's Day morning

Woke this morning in plenty of time to be out running along the waterfront of Snells Beach to watch the sunrise. As was the case yesterday, there are twice as many ducks on the water than usual; they came here to avoid the shooters, this being the duck hunting season. Most of the other birds I saw were herons.

Consequently, even though this was a spot where there were not very many birds at all, those that are seen are one heron (the white-faced variety) and ducks further out. Not even any gulls wheeling past in the air.

S organised lunch for her mother, who is doing well again. She does bounce back quite quickly still. We then came back to the city early so she could go to the book launch of a fellow poet. She had an excellent time, and heard many positive things about her writing. Her book is expected in a couple of months.

Now about to head out to the boys' favourite eating place (Elliott Stables) for the daughters and grand boys to thank S for being such a great mother and grandmother. Tsuken did a video phone call with her this morning.

This is another Sunday Sunrise for this year.
