Blackjack

Our family had a little casino night tonight since we didn't go to the boats this afternoon. My brother banked $400 and we all brought out some cash (me: $18 dollars in quarters, nickels, dimes, and pennies... yeah, I was that guy. lo siento!) to hit, double down, split, and (rarely) stay. I actually came out even.. and have been told that my monies are no good tomorrow night and I have to get real dollars. (BOO.)
Changed NYE plans from Austin to Beaumont - and two of my brothers will be here too! Plus, Michael is driving down from Tyler.. so now we'll both have to be driving on New Year's.. me back to Austin and him back to T-town.

I absolutely love my macro lens. I really do. I have much less use for my fisheye (though it's fun when appropriate)...
My lens wishlist consists of:
- Nikon 50 mm f/1.2*
- Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8
- Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 (maybe when I make the move to full frame...)

*Since the 50mm f/1.2 is only manual focus... what do y'all think out there in blipland? Worth it over the f/1.4? I'm leaning towards yes... any personal reviews?

I'm surprised (and proud of myself) that I'm taking the time and making the effort to blip every day. I don't think I've ever gone two complete, not to mention consecutive, months with blips every day. I don't cheat (because what good does that do me when I want to remember each day?)

I have the option to go out and fly with my brother in the morning. He's going to check out a plane from the BPT airport. That'd be pretty awesome to get some photos from the air - especially of Crystal Beach. I haven't seen the landscape since it got obliterated by Hurricane Ike last year. Maybe I'll have something good to post in the morning.

I've been feeling utterly uninspired for my blips lately (as one might be able to tell...) - but I'm trying to power through and find some creativity even though I don't feel it.
Well...... gonna watch a movie with my other brother and then probably call it a night.

Have a wonderful last day of the year, Bliplandia.
Cheers.
