Bowood 2014 #9: Rhododendron Walks

Due to the strange weather this year, Bowood decided to open the Rhododendron Walks a week earlier than advertised, and it had been open since the previous Thursday, but this was my first opportunity to visit. The blooms were approaching their optimum and there was a riot of colour and scent, including a profusion of bluebells.

I made it back to the entrance just in time to get a coffee from the stand before the owner packed up, and spent half an hour by a deep pond reading.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Tarnation - The Little Black Egg (1997)
The Little Black Egg was first performed by the Daytona Beach garage band The Nightcrawlers in 1965, but also has the distinction of being the only cover song recorded by Tarnation, the band formed by Paula Frazer, who was born on this day, April 24, in 1963, in Georgia,  Arkansas, and included on their final album, Mirador.
