Patiently Waiting...

...for homes.

Today we went along to support our local Greyhound Rescue as they held their annual fund-raising dog show.

What an amazing sight to see so many "Greys" under one roof.

Lovely to see those happily rehomed with amazing owners and fantastic to see these lovely gentle dogs enjoying their day out, tails wagging, eyes alert and nary a cross word between them all.

However, so so sad to see the parade of dogs awaiting homes. I could have taken quite a few of them back home with me!

Our local rescue normally rehomes 8 dogs per month but for some reason, in the past 2 months, only 2 dogs have been rehomed. There are 47 beautiful greyhounds currently awaiting homes in our small rescue, some of whom have waited for over 2 years!

I take my hat off to the people who run this rescue - if anyone is looking for a low maintenance, beautiful, calm dog, PLEASE consider a Greyhound!

Our scruffy Brisa won third place in the Junior Handler, any breed category which delighted her young handler, Lewis.

Not the best shot, better ones were taken today, but I think this sums the breed up and their predicament perfectly!
