Discombobulated Mum

This is a brand new clutch of ducklings, all nine of them, at Nanpantan Reservoir. The mother must be a new one as she didn't have much clue at first at how to herd them all together. It looked as if the male was rounding them up and leading them off, so presumably he's the older partner.

Didn't see the other duck with her five youngsters today. They were born more than a week ago.
