Riverside seat

The last inhabitant of this seat was the River Derwent. The half a footbridge it left behind can be seen in the background. The other half is on the bank.

Not sure where the can of tennants super came from.

Walked along Cockermouth Main St. Boots and Greggs have already renovated and are open, the police station appears to be open upstairs. Every other premise in the affected area is either wrecked or has dehumidifiers attempting to clear up the wreckage. Some of the Main St has relocated to the old market hall. The Main Street is closed to traffic, there are skips full of debris all along it and the bridges at both ends are closed to vehicles.

Where are the stories of the people who had no homes this xmas and the people whose businesses lost their xmas stock and could not trade. I hope the insurance companies have paid up promptly, and I wonder what can be done to ensure that people can trade again, and that the town returns to something similar to before. Is the main st insurable? Would you set up a shop there if you thought you may lose everything?
