Seat of the Clan Munro

This is Foulis Castle seat of the Clan Munro and was open to day with a plant sale to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. We enjoyed a pleasant walk round the castle grounds admiring the fine azaleas of all colours. We had tea and plenty of cakes in one of the rooms of the castle. It must cost a fortune to keep a house this big running. I did buy a few plants, of course, it's for charity after all. A yellow iris, a small rockery plant and some London Pride.

The early morning was glorious and the water so still. The bullfinch made it's first appearance of the year, last year it appeared on June 4th. I think the daisies are further ahead this year as it was busy eating them today. The woodpecker has been down and the vole has made a sneaky appearance too. Rain mid afternoon but warm, feels stormy and no wind :)

Still shattered after yesterday so will catch up soon !
