A trip to the Isle of Staffa...

Dear Diary,

I went to Staffa to see the amazing musical cave, Fingal's Cave. People have journeyed here for centuries to stand transfixed in the cave. The song of the sea is amplified and it was, in fact, the inspiration for Felix Mendelssohn's Heberdian overture. I listen to it when I returned and could hear the tonal analogy he was making.
