Early morning discovery

This red primrose made it through the hard winter and is blooming through a cluster of for-get-me-nots. I was so thrilled to discover it. That is until I saw it on the computer screen... a slimy orange SLUG having breakfast.
Out I returned to the garden walkway. Alas, the gobbler was gone...
There were plenty of its relatives out and about all over the damp grass and plants.
The war goes on....
