Water wheel in Nemours

Roger had a meeting this morning, so I was very good and went to the gym! After lunch, we drove out to Nemours, which is located on the River Loing. We visited the chateau, the original parts of which date back to the 12th and 13th centuries. That was a little disappointing, as there isn't a great deal that is open to the public, and not a great deal to see, but the admission was pretty low, and reduced for the over 60's, so that was even better! We then walked across to the other side of the river to see the castle from the other side, then went for a walk along the Canal du Loing, which parallels the river. Along the way we passed this water wheel, which I thought made quite a nice picture. The day's weather was sunshine and showers, but fortunately we managed to miss most of the showers! This evening we went out for a lovely meal in the village of Barbizon. Looking at my husband now, he's falling asleep in front of the TV, so I think it must be time for bed!
