Danger Zone

We have missed out on the nasty weather of the last day or so. No snow here at all…but winter has romped in on a roll in the southern part of the South Island. It is to be hoped that the frosts which will follow the early snowfalls will not be too heavy.
The dogs and I walked along the Taylor River Track where the worst of the erosion occurred during the April storms. The Council has erected a warning of sorts. I see no real need for it. The danger is obvious. But I daresay they have to allow for folk who may be silly enough to cycle along the track at high speed in the darkness of night. Hopefully they will spot the yellow tape reading “Keep Clear” before they hurtle off the track and down into the river bed.
The warning tape certainly does not deter Gyspy who has found a way to scramble down the new cliff face to the water for a quick splash and swim!
