The inside of the roof

During last night it rained very heavily and although the tarpaulin, which has minor pin holes all over it, did a reasonable job of keeping most of the kitchen dry, where it had puddled the rain came through the pinholes as though it was a shower. Today I found some polypropylene sheets, which I placed between the ‘C’ section beams, to support the tarpaulin, where it had puddled. This looked as though it might do the trick, however, shortly after I had placed these there it rained quite heavily and although they had cured one problem others still remained. The builders tarpaulin came down the roof (or lack of it), 15 centimetres away from the house wall, so that rain beating on the house wall poured straight into the house. Tomorrow I must climb upon the roof, being careful not to fall through the tarpaulin, and batten the tarpaulin to the house wall.

Today’s picture is of the kitchen ceiling, with half of it missing, showing the black polypropylene sheets supporting the tarpaulin, together with buckets and bowls which had been collecting the showers.
