The monastic city of Glendalough...

Dear Diary,

I visiedt the monastic city this morning. It is an enchanting landscape set in a valley between two lakes. The flowers are in bloom and the whole area seemed to be alive with new life. St. Kevin founded this monastery in the 6th century and pilgrims have been coming here for 1400 years. The residue of all those prayers hang heavy in the air. I will be making several visits to this place in the coming days...there is so much to see.

There is a saying in Ireland that heaven and earth are only three feet apart but in some places it is much closer...this is one of those places.

Glorying in this "thin place"...
