Can you smell it?

Try LARGE

There were a few bluebells left in Strid Woods and some other white and pink flowers but the overwhelming sight and smell came from these wild garlic flowers.

We walked from Barden Bridge down the top side of the River Wharfe to the Cavendish Pavilion and then back on the lower side where you can access the Strid. We didn't as it is a bit dodgy with the dogs - 3 were accompanying us, it is a ravine of rushing water where the river is forced through a narrow gap create by rocks.

Some of the walk is in open pasture but a lot of it is in the woods. Everything is wonderfully lush and green and despite a poor forecast it was dry (after a little initial drizzle) and very warm.

We of course finished with a morning afternoon tea at the Tea rooms at Bolton Abbey and were able to sit outside which is good as the dogs can sit there too.
