Bottom Of The Bowl

Despite the, quite frankly, horrible weather we still know how to have fun: by using the finest ingredients in the kitchen to make fairy cakes.

M had decided that order of the afternoon was to make some cakes for his Cousin and his Nanny (two separate people for anyone thinking of making the joke) so we et about it late afternoon. Unfortunately we had almost no unsalted Lurpack left so I substituted Brittany butter (salted and gorgeous), high quality vanilla essence (found in the cupboard) and Free Range Fresh Farm eggs (just arrived) as I had used all the other eggs for breakfast. Chuck it all in the blender, doll into cases and cook. Then eat the remaining mix in the bowl (pictured above). Finally top with edible glitter, hundreds and thousands, mini caramel chocolate pieces and popping candy (all found in the baking bit of our cupboards).

Unwittingly we made the best fairy cakes known to man.
