Grey and Unloved?

Another grey and wet day today which didn't show either Buxton or Bakewell off to their best. We went to Buxton first and had a wander through the Cavendish Arcade - without making any purchases! The Pavilion Gardens were lovely but the ducks were certainly happier than those of us who were cagoule-clad in the drizzle and 11 degrees. We were a disappointed to see that the Crescent was no noticeably further on in its redevelopment than the last time we were here which we think must be more than five years ago. It is a lovely building but even with the hoardings cropped for this blip plus a bit of Snapseed-faffing it still looks a bit unloved and forgotten.

We came back via Bakewell but again resisted shopping opportunities, including puddings. Chatsworth is planned for tomorrow and a table booked already for Friday fish and chips so here's hoping for a less damp end to the week.
