CCC: Bumblebee on an Inflorescence

See its five eyes (2 large compound ones, and 3 central ocelli) in large ("L").

I found this rather pretty tree bumblebee on these lavender-coloured inflorescences (any ideas?). I was actually out looking for droplets (after a rainy afternoon), but it was the bee photos that I kept coming back to when choosing my blip...
