Adéu to Catalunya and Adiós to Spain

On the ferry leaving Santander after a 7 hour drive from the village. It was a good job that we were there in plenty of time because, due to the local vet making a mistake in Jasper's passport and crossing it through to alter the date, there had to be a discussion about whether it had to be done again at a vet in Santander, but luckily they let us through.

The car was directed to park centrally on the deck... maybe because it was probably the heaviest vehicle, full to the brim as it was. My heart was in my mouth while Steve was driving it up the very steep ramp to the deck, I thought we were going to roll back down, and there was a very strong smell of burning rubber from everyone's tyres.

But we made it and found our dog-friendly cabin. There were only about 9 dogs on board, and luckily they never all went onto the assigned deck at the same time as it wasn't much more than a gangway.

The sea was as calm as a millpond... although I still kept taking the tablets, just in case, the cabin was fine, the food was reasonable and not too expensive. But these ferry journeys are just a bit boring, and so we bought a Saturday paper and read all of the supplements.
