Swimming Against The Tide

Tree and Town Hall

We finally decided that the roads were good enough to venture out into the big wide world today after several days snowed in in our picturesque but rather small village.

We managed to get to the nearest sizeable town, where they'd sensibly been allocating resources so as to make the roads and pavements useable rather than worrying about getting the Christmas tree down on twelfth night.

The imposing building behind the tree is the local Town Hall. I'm also rather drawn to the building on the other side of the tree. Some of the writing on the wall says: "coal, coke, cake, forage" which always sounds like in interesting combination to me!
