Glasgow Mela weather

Ohh it rained. It rained and it rained. In each raindrop there was more rain within rain. Wet upon wet. A mass of rain from the incontinent clouds.

The Glasgow Mela is in Kelvingrove Park today and tomorrow. There is music, dance, colour and aromas. But there is rain. If the next global crisis is to be access to water then we'd better get our guards on the borders cause water -rain- is something we have in abundance.

Despite being browbeaten by the unrelenting timapani of the sky, there were many great and delightful things to see. I followed this most colourful and cheeriest of groups The Jaipur Kawa Brass Band about for a bit. They were fun. They were colourful and happy parping and drumming away. And their dancer was a Goddess in human form. So I heard laughter in the rain.

I totally sympathise with the organisers as I was once a Summer event organiser working for the Forth and Clyde Canal. All the events were dependent on the weather as they had to take place canal-side. Practically every event was a wash out.

Hopefully this doesn't bode ill for the Commonwealth Games to come.
